P&O Cruises has six ships, with Artemis being the smallest. Artemis Cruises like all the P&O Cruises is a more traditional style of cruise. Initially costing $165m to build, Artemis was first known as Royal Princess and belonged to P&O Cruise's sister company Princess Cruises. Artemis Cruises were first offered by P&O Cruises when she joined the fleet in 2005.

At 44,348 tons, she can be considered a small to medium sized ship by modern standards. Her naming ceremony when joining P&O was performed by the well known actress Prunella Scales.

Typically Artemis Cruises have up to 1,188 passengers in 596 cabins, the cabins sizes range from 186 square feet up to the 1,126 square foot top of the range suites. She has a total of 8 decks and is 754 feet long.

News, P&O Cruises have announced a change to their smoking policy and each ship will have one dedicated internal public space for smoking. They will still allow smokin in cabins and balconies on Arcadia , Artemis, Aurora and Oriana, while smoking is not permitted in any cabins onboard Oceana or Ventura, but is allowed on the balconies.
